Accent

I found this little quiz and I thought you all would enjoy taking it too:) It's about your accent. Can you guess what mine was? Ha ha ha, I know that's like asking you what my name is. Southern and Lindsay are synonymous.
Let me know what yours is :)

According to the quiz, I have a western accent (go figure: I grew up in Pennsylvania), which they say most people would say is no accent. In a linguistics class I took in college, I learned that what I speak is called "standard American English." Steve also grew up in PA, but we pronounce a lot of words differently. He grew up in the heart of PA Dutch country, so he says things "dutchy." If my kids took it, they'd probably be the same as me, even though they grew up here in the south. I guess it has more to do with your parents than your locale, especially if you're not in the public school system. It's an interesting quiz!

Lindsay Here is mine!! Very FUN!! They are actually right-the good old Maryland/Baltimore accent.

Your Result: Philadelphia

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

That thing was great! totally guessed I'm from north Jersey (I thought I sounded more southern than that... since I moved here when I was four, but oh well.) ; )

Philadelphian for me to. I grew up about an hour east of there.
