The Beach

We had great weather for the beach this time!

This was what the ocean looked like the first day we were there. It was so calm! Barely any waves and it was great for the girls.

The girls preferred the pool to the beach. What?! We can do that at home we told them, but no, they wanted to spend most of their days at the pool.

Redneck Garden Gate

We needed a fence for our garden to keep the deer out. Jeremy, with a little help from me, spent most of the weekend constructing our fence. We used stuff we had on hand to save money. I love how Jeremy can rig anything up:) Okay, lots of times I don't love how he does that, but I do appreciate how he can fix just about anything!:)

So here we have our redneck garden gate...a Jeremy special.

Everytime I have to open that thing, I just shake my head and smile. I shake my head that it's so rigged and a little bit of a pain. But then I smile because I am so grateful for my husband and his desire to serve me.
At least the things growing inside our redneck fence are producing good fruit!

Sprinkler.

The week before last Reese and Piper were sick. It was a loooong week with the longest stomach virus we've ever had in our house, so they girls were begging to go to the pool but of course we couldn't. Piper got this cute little sprinkler for her birthday so I pulled it out for them.

Piper spent a little time in it but she was worn out quickly.

Beach Day

We did get one nice beach day!

The girls decided to feed the seagulls. ewwwh. One of them pooed on my towel. ewwwh.

The water was cold but they didn't care...as usual:)
We built a boat.

Piper was in the water a lot more than she usually is. Maybe she's going to go for it this year.

Rainy Days

A rainy day at the beach with five kids demanded an activity. So we headed to Wilmington to the Children's Museum. I'd never been before and had no idea what to expect. But it was so much fun! There was a ton to do in there.

There was a dentist chair with all the necessities too. You were supposed to pretend and brush on the fake teeth. But Ellie decided to brush Piper's teeth instead. Yuck!

There was a camp room with tents, a canoe, and a fire stove. Gracie managed to find goggles too.
This was Piper's favorite part. You learned how to mix colors here.
Zander got in on the action too...
We went back to this station more than once...
There was a pirate ship that you could shoot cannons from...
And an art room that was a highlight...

And there was karaoke...
Sing it sista!
And a grocery store. Gracie was the cashier...
Then there was an international restaurant where they cooked and cooked...

We were stuffed!
