Please vote! Our children's future depends on it!
Okay, I am crazy blogger this week! There is so much going on.
Anyway, This email below came to me from the American Family Association. It gives a great explanation about why I have felt it is important to blog about the election and increase awareness.

Dear Lindsay,
In my 70 years, I have never seen an election where coverage was so one-sided and biased or where censorship by the liberal media was so widely practiced and where media coverage was so slanted as I have seen in this election process. Their plan is working. The only chance conservatives have is to make sure they care enough to vote.
If the liberals win the upcoming election, America as we have known it will no longer exist.This country that we love, founded on Judeo-Christian values, will cease to exist and will be replaced by a secular state hostile to Christianity. This “city set on a hill” which our forefathers founded, will go dark. The damage will be deep and long lasting. It cannot be turned around in the next election, or the one after that, or by any election in the future. The damage will be permanent. That is why it is so important for you to vote and to encourage friends and family to vote. This is one election where your vote really counts.
But again, I know and trust that we are in God's hands. He never promises that this life is easy and this seems to be one of those times where we will be tested. We don't know the outcome yet, of course, but we are being tested even now in the waiting.
SO I have a question for all of you? Help me out here. You have probably heard this too....Many people think we should vote for a third party versus voting for the "lesser of the two evils" as they call it. They feel that we will stand before God to give account (and I agree) and they don't think voting for Obama or McCain is for God's glory. What do you think about that? And what about the fact that it's highly unlikely that a 3rd party will win, so you could be giving votes away?
I would love for you to weigh in on this. We're all friends here:) So send in your thoughts.

I'm voting third party because I don't support either Obama or McCain. I understand that not voting for McCain gives Obama an advantage, but I don't care. I think I should vote for who I think is the best candidate, period. Maybe if more people would do this then the mainstream media would pay more attention to the third party candidates. I also think that it doesn't make a whole lot of difference in the end who ends up as President (except for the appointment of Supreme Court justices); we need BIG changes in Congress since they're the ones making all these crazy laws. BTW, I am registered as an independent, so I don't have any party loyalties to consider. I left the Republican Party a number of years ago because they have come to look too much like the Democrats.
Just my 2 cents. I'd be interested to hear what others think.
It is true that the election is so close that votes for third parties will take votes from McCain and Obama will most likely win. However, you need to pray and seek God for the anwer on who you should vote for. If you feel God is leading you to vote for a 3rd party, don't vote for McCain out of fear of what will happen if Obama wins. You have to listen to God and trust in His plan for this country. His plan for this country may be very hard for many of us. This country in large part has been turning away from God and there will eventually be consequences, whether now or in the future. Don't have fear, just trust and know that God is in complete control of every situation.

If he leads you to vote for a 3rd party, don't vote for McCain out of fear. Trust God and trust in His plan. He is in complete control of every situation.
There is still time, so the Lord may change my mind, but...
I feel led to vote for McCain, because I believe the Lord has and will use him and Palin to open our eyes to the sanctity of life in all stages of life and ability. McCain certainly has short comings, but I can't help but be impressed by his humility. When he explained how he could not rely upon himself, but upon God and his fellow citizens when he was broken by torture, I felt it would be OK for me to vote for him.
The only other candidate I like belongs to the Constitution Party, but according to their website, it looks like they won't be on the NC ballot. I hope this is wrong since it is a party with which most conservative Christians can identify.
Your vote still counts even if your candidate doesn't win, so vote the way you are led.
